Walang Pasok: July 28 a special nonworking holiday in Bulacan – Palace
Monday, July 28, will be a special nonworking day in Bulacan to allow the orderly exit of members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo from the venue of its centennial celebration in the province.
Proclamation 837 dated July 24 indicated that Bulacan province requested the holiday proclamation.
"(I)n order to ensure an orderly procession of the attendees out of the venue, and to facilitate the flow of traffic, the Province of Bulacan requests that Monday, 28 July 2014, be declared a special (non-working) holiday," the proclamation signed by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. said,
Local authorities expect "more than 1.5 million" people to attend the Iglesia Ni Cristo centennial in Bulacan on Sunday, July 27.
Iglesia Ni Cristo members are expected to arrive in more than 10,000 buses and 2,800 vans.
Organizers, local authorities, and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority expect that the buses and vans "will only be able to complete ferrying all the delegates out of the venue by Monday, 28 July 2014."
Earlier, the North Luzon Expressway had advised motorists to reschedule their trips on Sunday due to the expected heavy traffic this weekend. — Joel Locsin/ELR, GMA News
